We also live in a culture that tends to feel that bigger is better. We think that big steps or big dramatic changes will produce big results. And while this may be true a small percentage of the time, or may seem logical, it’s very rare and difficult to implement. Smaller steps are more doable both for our minds and for our bodies. Why I use sport as a metaphor for life. -

As a former Trainer and athlete myself, I’ve been grateful to coach all walks of life from pro athletes to beginners......While I can tell you a thing or 2 about fitness! Sport has been my metaphor in how I process and cope in life’s setbacks and challenges. -

Right now, adaptation really resonates with me. Think of it this way, adaptation which refers to your body's physiological response to training. -

When you do new exercises or workouts like my HIIT Pilates! 💁‍♀️or load your body in a different way, your body reacts by increasing its ability to cope with that new load to change. Its in the process of breaking your body down and in its rebuilding and recovery process that will make you physically and mentally stronger to take it to the next level. -

I use this analogy because we need to allow our minds to adapt and recover to new stress. It’s in our coping mechanisms and how we manage that stress that determines our reaction to Flexibility & Resilience! -

We are adjusting to changing work environments and lifestyle changes. I can’t tell you how touched I am by everyone contributing their talents and strengths to helping one another to adapt in a time like this. This is where we need to stick together, support one another and come together and do what we can. -

If you’re spending more time at home like most of us and a snacky monster like me..... -

I opt for what I call marathon foods that sustain you longer without hitting the wall with snack attacks! With a tweak to my fresh version which has a shorter shelf life SWAP with longer shelf life FROZEN AVOCADOS 🥑 -

Avocados are in fibre and healthy dietary fat rich in nutrients, including healthy fat that burn fat with fiber that stabilizes blood sugar without energy crashes mentally and physically! -

Freezing itself does not significantly affect the calorie, fiber, or mineral content of foods, but it may reduce their levels of water soluble vitamins  as vitamin B6 and folate. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Freeze and thaw those avocados and add to Smoothies, spread on toast or mash up with fresh tomato for some delicious guacamole! #nutritiontips #healthyhabits #avacodo #wellness

You know, like our bodies will just keep working because that is what bodies do. Our environment will be able to support us because the sun always rises whether we think about it or not. -

Our loved ones and friends will be there because, well, where else would they be? -

We feel confident of their presence, and focus our thoughts and energies in other directions on things we are not so sure of ‘having’. -

It is not until we are threatened with the loss of one of these precious things that we truly realize what we took for granted. -

If there was ever more of a time that called to Live in the Moment, practice gratitude and come together to support one another, it is now. -

Notice what is happening right now around you. When you take time to really notice what is going on in the moment to recognize, and appreciate the big and little things that surround you right now. -
